St. Catharines, ON (January 24, 2017) – FEL announced today that they will be joining the 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 Series.

The 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 series will make four stops at Canada’s premier racing circuit, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and one stop each at Shannonville Motorsport Park outside Belleville, Ontario and Calabogie Motorsports Park outside Ottawa, Ontario.

The FEL sponsorship is focused on increasing grid numbers and enticing young drivers to F1600.

The drivers running Honda powered A-class cars are currently paid prize money from HPD (Honda Performance Development) so the FEL sponsorship will focus on a prize money package for the B-class cars as well as tow money. FEL will pay $300 for 1st, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd at each of the series races.

On top of the prize money package FEL will pay $300 tow money to the first five A or B class entrants who travel more than 350 kms to any of the Ontario F1600 Series races. The $300 is paid out per race weekend, rather than per race.
