Our first race weekend saw us participate in the SMP Cup at Shannonville Motorsport Park. 24 cars registered for the weekend, our largest grid in many years at this event. The weather moderated from the intense heat on Friday and provided excellent racing all weekend. Congratulations to all our winners!
Race 1 on Saturday afternoon saw rookie driver Logan Pacza of Britain West Motorsport take his first race victory in his first race in ‘A’ class! Second place went to returning BWM driver Callum Baxter. Connor Clubine took 3rd place for a BWM sweep of the podium.
Race 1 in ‘B’ class saw another driver take his first race victory. Congratulations to Dylan McPherson! Second place went to Andrew Mason and rounding out the podium in third place was Jason Sharpe.
Race 2 on Sunday morning saw some changes on the podium in ‘A’ class. Congrats to Callum Baxter on his first race win! Logan Pacza took second place with Gerry Kavanaugh of Brian Graham Racing rounding out the podium in third place.
Race 2 in ‘B’ class saw Dylan McPherson continue his winning streak with another first place. Andrew Mason followed close behind in second and veteran driver Steve Bodrug took third place.
Race 3 Sunday afternoon continued to provide some good racing and saw a shake up to the podium in ‘A’ class. Logan Pacza of Britain West Motorsport took his second victory of the season. Gerry Kavanaugh moved up to second place and rookie Brian Graham Racing driver Antonio Costantino took his first podium with a third place finish.
Race 3 in ‘B’ class saw the same drivers as Race 2 take the podium just on different steps. Congrats to Steve Bodrug in first place, Dylan McPherson in second place with Andrew Mason taking third place.
Overall a great weekend with great racing throughout the field!! Round 2 will see us participate in the very popular Vintage Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Father’s Day weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
