Toronto, ON (June 2, 2017) – Kickoff for the 2017 Formula 1600 Super Series is just a week away as teams and drivers have set their sights on Montreal and the Canadian Grand Prix.

Fans from around the world will converge on Quebec’s most populous city beginning next week to celebrate 50 years of Formula 1 in Canada, and the Formula 1600 contingent is excited to be on the card.

A field of 30+ is expected for the first of four events as Ontario and Quebec regulars mix with international talents at Le Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Ile Notre Dame. FEL (Franczak Enterprises Ltd) has posted a $5,000 Series’ Champion Cheque as well, so all will be looking to stand on the famous Formula 1 podium.

Qualifying will take place Friday afternoon, followed by a two-race weekend with the first on Saturday afternoon and the second on Sunday morning. The Super Series will then head to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park two weeks later, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in August and Calabogie Motorsports Park to crown a champion as summer winds down.
